Man dies near Arrow Valley Visitor Centre

Redditch Editorial 6th Aug, 2019 Updated: 6th Aug, 2019   0

A MAN died near the Arrow Valley Visitor Centre yesterday afternoon (August 5) after suffering from a sudden cardiac arrest.

Two ambulances were called to the scene, at around 4.43pm, but the man was announced dead by paramedics soon after.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were also in attendance.”

A cardiac arrest is when your heart suddenly stops pumping blood round your body, commonly because of a problem with electrical signals in your heart.

When your heart stops pumping blood, the brain is starved of oxygen.

This causes you to fall unconscious and stop breathing.

Cariac arrest is a medical emergency.

If you witness a cardiac arrest you can increase the person’s chances of survival by phoning 999 immediately and giving CPR.
