ST BENEDICT’S Catholic High School in Alcester yesterday revealed (Tuesday, August 27) that its GCSE results show improvement across all key measures.

In all 70 per cent of pupils secured 9-4 grades in both English and Maths with 43 per cent secured 9-5 grades in English and Maths: a six percentage point increase on last year.

Top performers included 20 students who averaged at least 56 points from their best 8 GCSEs which is equivalent to straight A grades.

Headteacher, David Hughes said: “I am delighted that the pupils’ hard work, the support of their parents and/or carers and the dedication of St Benedict’s staff has been rewarded with superb results for so many of our students this year.

“We are looking forward to welcoming many of our students back to study the International Baccalaureate or BTEC courses with us in September and wish our leavers every success and happiness for their futures.”
