Residents are taking selfies with colourful artwork in Brockhill

COLOURFUL artwork has appeared on a fence in Brockhill after a painter was hired to help brighten up the area.

Grandmother Anita Hughes, of Aldermans Lane, commissioned artist Brandon Higgins to paint a picturesque woodland scene on her garden fence last week.

The finished piece features several animals including a bulldog and a fox, as a rising sun begins to break through a set of trees.

Anita said: “I’m always outside walking my dogs so I wanted to have it done for my family and others in the area to enjoy as they pass by.

“I told Brandon, whose work is all around Tewkesbury and beyond, what I wanted and he got to work using just his hands and a paint brush.

“He was excellent.”

The work took several days to complete and has since attracted the attention of many children and parents who have stopped to take pictures with it.

Brandon, owner of business Brandon’s Murals, said: “I’ve been painting professionally for about six years now.

“I generally do domestic work but lately I have been painting in schools and hospitals.

“I’m really pleased with how my artwork turned out in Brockhill, as feather board fences can be an absolute nightmare to achieve any decent detail.

“My wrist was certainly aching after it.”
