THERE’LL prizes galore – including one for the best dressed dog – at Redditch Lions Club’s annual Halloween walk / run around Arrow Valley Park on Sunday, October 27.
On offer are a 2.5km or a 5km circuit – one or two laps around the lake – and people can run, walk, push or get round however they wish – fancy dress is welcome.
It’s open to serious runners, non-runners, families and individuals with every penny raised being split between the charity Prostate Cancer UK and the Rory the Robot campaign.
One in eight men will be affected by prostate cancer and early diagnosis is important in the battle to beat the disease.
The Rory the Robot campaign is a fundraising drive to have a computerised surgical system which performs prostate operations with the minimum of trauma for the patient leading to faster recovery times and less time in hospital.
Rory the Robot would also be capable of carrying out a range of other surgical procedures and the plan is to have it sited at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.
The fundraiser co-ordinator for the Rory the Robot campaign, Nicky Langford, will be leading the warm-up for the walk and run and it all starts at 10.30am by the visitor centre with a start time of 11am.
Entry is £5 for adults, £3 for children under 16 and for teams of six, £25.
To pre-register visit https://e-clubhouse.org/sites/redditch/index.php or just turn up on the day.
