Redditch Cubs and Scouts to dress up in their best ghostly outfits

CUBS and Scouts in Redditch will be dressing up next week in their best ghostly outfits for a trick-or-treat with a difference.

The youngsters will be knocking on doors in and around Boultons Lane in Crabbs Cross hoping to collect items for Redditch Foodbank.

The eight to 14-year-olds from the 1st Crabbs Cross and Hunt End Scout Group will be pounding the streets from 6.30pm to 8pm and have already leafleted houses warning residents so they can prepare donations.

Cub Scout Leader Sue Harffey from the Littlewoods-based group said: “We did the same last year and it was a huge success and we are hoping for even better things this time round.

“We have explained to the youngsters that not everyone is as fortunate as ourselves and sometimes need help from their local community.

“I would urge people to be as generous as they can.”

The collection is being held on November 1 to avoid a clash with Halloween itself although the children will be dressed up in suitably spooky outfits.
