REDDITCH Foodbank is holding a major pre-Christmas collection at Tesco Extra in Coldfield Drive next week.
The foodbank, which is run by local charity Acts of Kindness for the Trussell Trust, has seen a 43 increase in demand in the last 12 months, with no sign of a let-up.
“Our upcoming collection at Tesco will be crucial to seeing the foodbank through what is expected to be our hardest winter yet,” said foodbank manager Laura Kyte.
The chair of trustees at AoK, Rev Robin Baker, added: “We are at our highest level of helping people and if any individuals, businesses, schools or churches wish to make donations for Christmas, we would love to hear from you.”
The collection at Tesco Extra, Oakenshaw, will run from Thursday, November 21 to Saturday, November 23.
