BIG-HEARTED pupils at Church Hill Middle School have given a major boost to the Redditch Nightstop charity.

The youngsters donated all the proceeds from their Harvest Festival to the Britten Street-based organisation which helps prevents homelessness among young people.

The vital donation from the students will help ensure that young adults struggling to keep a roof over the their heads can help balance their budget and feed themselves, said the charity’s Sharon Holtom.

“A big thank you to pupils, parents and staff at Church Hill Middle School,” added Sharon.

“Without support from family, friends, or the local authority, homeless young people are often left to fend for themselves.

“Nightstop is the safety net that many young people rely on, bridging the gap by providing safe accommodation and support.”

The charity also runs drop-in sessions for its clients coverign everything from use of the phone and computer to support for housing, food, health services, social care, income, ID, clothing, education, training, employment and other specialised services.

Sharon said the aim was to remove barriers to accessing employment, training and accommodation and to develop trust, dignity and resilience.
