A CARE service in Redditch celebrated the 100th birthday of one of its users on Wednesday, December 4.

Staff from Old Friends Care, which has an ‘outstanding’ overall CQC rating, delivered a bouquet of flowers to Joan Twinning’s home on Ken Sumner Gardens.

Joan celebrated her big day with family and friends and also received a letter from the Queen.

Kevin McNally, director of Old Friends, said: “We want to say a very happy birthday to Joan, it is an amazing accomplishment.

“It comes as we celebrate 25 years of providing care for people in Redditch.

“We are also very proud of our home support worker, Kawsar Ahmed, who is the first male carer in our business to pass his probation early with Distinction.

“This is quite an achievement as the award is based on job performance, feedback from management, work colleagues and most importantly the people that Kawsar provides care for.”
