PATIENTS at the Alexandra Hospital cried tears of joy when they were visited by St Bede’s Catholic Middle School’s choir on Wednesday.
The Year 7 and 8 pupils sang Christmas carols on several wards in the hospital.
Teacher Mrs Julie Bush said: “Our choir, called ‘The Singers’, visit the Alex every year.
“They really cheered up some of the patients.
“Last year there was a German lady on one of the wards and some of our pupils sang ‘Silent Night’ in German – it was wonderful to see.”
The Singers will return to the Alex for more carol singing before the end of term, on December 19.
