A WEDDING cake designer from Redditch has been named as one of the best in the country.
Pamela Wainwright scooped ‘Wedding Cake Designer of the Year’ at The English Wedding Awards 2019 (EWA) for her delicious range of fresh and quality desserts.
It was the icing on the cake for Pamela, who runs The Red Cake Company with her mum Norma from her Winyates home as it marked her third award in four years.
“I’m really honoured and it was a lot of fun to attend the ceremony in Birmingham,” she said.
“Now that EWA is more established, people are starting to recognise the awards as a big achievement when deciding to choose us for their wedding.
“But we honestly didn’t expect to win, or even be nominated for that matter, so I want to say a big thank you to everyone who recommend us.”
The glitzy evening was hosted by presenter Laura Fleming who acknowledged those who add ‘fairy-tale touches to weddings’.
A spokesperson for EWA said: “The competition was really tough this year but these champions are specialists who know how to create a stress-free wedding experience to keep romance in the air.
“We would like to congratulate all the finalists and winners for their amazing achievements.”
