A PARKING survey commissioned by a developer wanting to build six houses on the site of the old Doric Works in Church Road, Studley has been branded as ‘nonsensical’.
The area outside the old factory is already used for parking by residents living opposite and Studley Parish Councillors described suggestions that more people park on the main A435 Alcester Road as an accident waiting to happen.
And they endorsed comments from residents that the proposed parking plan could see conflict of vacant spaces.
“It’s completely nonsensical – two three-bed semis with a parking porch on the side seems to me to be the only way forward otherwise the whole thing is ridiculous.
“It’s a recipe for conflict, and serious conflict at that,” said Coun Paul Beaman.
Councillors also slammed the plans for describing the houses as two bedroomed with a ‘home office’ as that room could be used as a third bedroom, in which case each home would require two parking spaces.
Members voted to object to the plans.
