Astwood Bank Operatic Society members help boost charity supplies

MEMBERS of Astwood Bank Operatic Society (ABOS) helped boost supplies at two worthy Redditch causes over the Christmas period.

Redditch Foodbank and Radiate Redditch were delighted to receive the donations during the run-up to the festivities.

The foodbank provides nutritionally balanced emergency food for local people, while Radiate Redditch offered shelter and support for the homeless at the Ecumenical Centre over the holiday period.

Steve Skinner, chair of the operatic society, said: “We are delighted to be able to give something back to the people of Redditch.

“Christmas can be a difficult time for those without homes or have reached crisis point.

“In collecting essentials as well as Christmas goodies, we hope that we have been able to put a smile on someone’s face.”

ABOS will be bringing their production of Orpheus in the Underworld to the Redditch Palace Theatre stage in March.
