A THEATRE group from St Augustine’s Catholic High School stunned audiences with two magical performances of Grease this week.

SAPA Youth Theatre staged the much-loved Summer Nights musical on Tuesday and Wednesday evening at Artrix in Bromsgrove.

It was one of the school’s largest productions yet, with more than 50 students across all five year groups taking part.

“The singing, dancing and overall staging of the show was phenomenal,” said St Augustine’s headteacher Mr Gerald O’Connor.

“The T-Birds and Pink Ladies were on note; the dancing and cheerleaders were flawless and Danny and Sandy gave a cracking performance of the young lovers.”

Mr O’Connor also praised the school band which maintained high-standards throughout the two-hour show.

SAPA has achieved outstanding success in the past, staging musicals as diverse as ‘Little Shop of Horrors’, ‘Return to the Forbidden Planet’ and ‘Into the Woods’.

In addition to their annual showcase, the group also travel overseas in July each year for a week of performances in Europe.
