Redditch couple reveal what it was like to move into dream home during lockdown

A YOUNG couple have revealed what it was like to move into their dream home during lockdown.

Primary school teachers Harriette, aged 24 and Matt, 26, recently purchased a three bedroom house in Abbey Gate, Redditch.

The first-time buyers were initially planning to rent for six months to ‘test living together’.

“Instead we arrived for our appointment after a spontaneous booking and we left having reserved a three-bedroom home,” said Crabbs Cross resident Harriette.

The couple could never have anticipated that a worldwide pandemic would potentially jeopardise their much-anticipated move.

But with careful planning, and by following the social distancing rules, they managed to move as planned.

Harriette added: “We thought we’d have to cancel the removal van and put all the new things we had bought into storage.

“The handover wasn’t what we had originally expected because everything had to be done at two metres away.

“The site manager at David Wilson Homes took pictures of our keys and put together a virtual pack for us so that we knew where everything was and didn’t feel clueless when we arrived.

“We’ve been together in our new home for pretty much the whole of lockdown, so we’re really getting to know the place.

“It’s nice to spend time together in our new home.”

Buyers should visit the David Wilson Homes website to book an appointment to view a property at Abbey Gate, or contact the sales enquiry line on 0333 3558 474.
