A WELL-travelled pooch has released her latest book – with a little help from owner Leigh Walton.
‘More Travels with Martha’ takes the Parsons Russell terrier to Eastern Europe visiting several out of the way places with Leigh and her husband and the family’s other pet dog.
Leigh comes from a well-known Redditch family – her grandmother ‘Granny Lewis’ – used to run a faggots and ice cream shop at the top of Beoley Road and bought one of the first motor cars in Redditch.
Leigh ‘ghost’ wrote her first book ‘Travels with Martha’ based on the family’s adventures travelling by narrowboat around England, but telling the story from Martha’s perspective.
Now after journeying East comes a follow up.
Rather than taking in well known destinations like Paris, Venice and Rome, Martha visits towns and villages such as Potsdam, Plitvice, Moritzburg, Mikulov, Pula, Zadar, Trogir, Molunat, Ljubljana and the troglodyte village of Peyre in France.
With travel somewhat limited just now, Leigh hopes the book will inspire readers to dream about, and start planning, holidays for when ‘things get back to normal’.
