A 31-year-old man has been charged with theft and assaulting two police officers after an incident in Shakespeare Avenue, Redditch earlier this week.
The incident happened on Wednesday, August 19, after officers were called to reports of shoplifting shortly after 10pm.
The following day, Daniel Bryant, of Upper Field Close, Redditch, was charged with theft, obstructing a police officer, a public order offence and two charges of assault by beating of an emergency worker – a police officer.
He was bailed and will appear at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on September 29.
A 33-year-old man from Redditch was also arrested on suspicion of theft from a store and assaulting an emergency worker, again a police officer.
He has been released under investigation.
