A NEW drive to highlight the benefits of Redditch Community Lottery has been made by the borough council.
The lottery was launched last December but since then councillors have remained coy about how successful it has been.
However it does offer local voluntary groups and charities the opportunity to raise much needed money.
Any voluntary community sector (VCS) groups, charities or organisations can apply to benefit from the lottery.
“Signing up to be a good cause is absolutely free, raises your profile among the Redditch community and is obviously a fantastic opportunity to raise funds,” said Ann Dallison, the borough’s voluntary community sector grants co-ordinator.
VCS and charity organisations can even nominate themselves, for free, to be added to the list of good causes.
Tickets cost £1 with 50p going to the chosen good cause and 10p distributed to other good causes through the Redditch Community Fund pot.
The rest goes goes on prize money – there’s a £25,000 jackpot plus smaller cash prizes – and administration fees.
Additional prizes at the moment include a £500 Forest Holidays ‘Staycation’ voucher by buying a ticket before October 31.
