REDDITCH Mental Health Action Group has stepped in to help the homeless sleeping in the Palace Theatre over Christmas.
The big hearted charity leapt into action after hearing that up to 16 people could be using the Alcester Street building as a night shelter while it is closed due to Covid restrictions on live performances.
Gathering together everything from hot chocolate to toothpaste, toothbrushes to underwear and dignity packs, they presented the goodies to staff from Caring for Communities and People who are running the night shelter.
“It’s been an awful year and I know people are really working hard to remember everyone but some can be forgotten,” said Rosie Palmer from Mhag.
“We wanted to bring a little bit of something to their lives, putting an arm around them and giving them a cuddle, and if that relieves what they are going through if only for a moment then it’s worth it.”
