PUPILS at Redditch middle schools will have a staggered return to school after the Christmas holidays.
The news comes after local MP Rachel Maclean tackled the Government following its announcement on primary schools, secondary schools and colleges, omitting middle schools.
“I sought urgent clarification from education ministers about what this means for Redditch’s middle schools,” said Mrs Maclean.
“Ministers have confirmed pupils in Years 5 and 6 at middle school will return to school on Monday, January 4, along with all primary school pupils.
Students in Years 7 and 8 will not return to school until Monday, January 18.
“I have been in contact with headteachers over the Christmas period regarding the rollout of rapid testing, I listened to their concerns and I’m glad the Government has acted on the feedback from our headteachers.”
