FANS of Headless Cross Community Orchard (in Redditch) are waxing lyrical as they warm-up to record their own song to ‘apple-aud’ all their fruitful ventures.
What’s more – they’re keen to involve anyone who feels a connection to the orchard there.
Teaming-up with a renowned songwriter, the orchard group is offering residents the chance to help write and perform a unique collaborative song that will see fans of the Headless Cross Orchard recording their performances on their own camera phones.
Together with local arts organisation Live and Local they’re working on the ‘Living Room Project’ – a community song-writing venture, with creative ways for getting people involved in the orchard fun, from the safety of their own homes.
Orchard volunteer Gabby Hemming said: “Over the next few weeks we’re asking residents to contribute words to help write the song.
“We’re also asking for expressions of interest from residents who want to help perform the song.
“Perhaps you can play an instrument? You may want to sing-along in the chorus, wear a costume, or perform something orchard-related in your video.
“Whatever your special power is – we’re keen for you to take part.”
To register an interest, or to send words to contribute to the song, email [email protected] or call 07751 305 654.
