Redditch swimmer swaps the pool for her running shoes to raise funds for Mind

A KEEN Redditch swimmer is swapping the pool for her running shoes to raise funds for a mental health charity close to her heart.

Redditch Swimming Club employee Megan Moss, aged 22, is running 18 miles a day for seven days straight in March.

The Loughborough University student, who is raising cash for Mind Charity, battled with her mental health when she was younger.

“I suffered badly between the ages of 14 and 17,” said the former Tudor Grange pupil.

“But luckily Mind Charity was always there to support me and point me in the right direction in getting professional help.”

Megan usually stays active by swimming and admitted running isn’t her forte.

“I’m not a runner really, but I’m slowly getting there with my training and will be doing a half-marathon in two weeks’ time.

“I’m currently running about 50km a week.

“The reason I’m running 18 miles each day is because 18 people die by suicide every day in the UK.”

Megan has already raised hundreds of pounds for the charity, which she is pleased about, but would love to add to her total.
