Green light for GlastonBeoley music festival this summer

LET the music play!

The GlastonBeoley music festival is back on track and set to be held over the weekend of July 31 to August 1.

And organisers of the charity event hope it will be the ideal opportunity to have a great time after the pandemic and help local worthy causes into the bargain.

Director Debbie Joynes said: “We are all so hungry to enjoy live music again.

“We can’t wait to bring people together safely to enjoy live music, and to raise some much needed funds for our local charities who have suffered so much during lockdown.”

After donating £27,200 over the last three years the team of volunteers are keen to continue with their efforts.

“As most people are aware, the festival is entirely funded by fundraising events and sponsorship,” said Debbie.

“This year we have been lucky enough to secure sponsorship from Knights Pharmacy, but we are keen to secure further backing if possible.

“All organisers, volunteers and musicians provide their services for free. This is particularly heartwarming from musicians, who have been unable to earn a living from music in the pandemic.

“We are truly humbled by the amount of talented people who apply to play at our festival.”

This year’s festival will be at the Bees Rugby Club, Portway and features a licensed bar, free parking, and acres of space to ensure people can enjoy the music and still maintain a comfortable distance from others should that be required or desired.
