‘GIVING something back to help the community’ – that’s what keeps Councillor Colin Summers going after he was re-elected as chair of Studley Parish Council on Tuesday evening.
And Coun Summers, who will have Coun Mike Osborne as vice chair, acknowledges building back after the pandemic will figure highly in the year ahead.
“I hope to see us recover from the pandemic – these have been difficult times and it will take a while to get everything back on its feet again.”
At the annual parish meeting councillors heard reports from organisations across the village who have been supported by the authority.
“They have all done well to not only keep going through the pandemic but also to help others,” said Coun Summers.
“And I thank them all because they are the fabric that make the village what it is, they are the ones that contribute to the success of Studley and the wider community.”
It’s a ethos he well recognises: “I just find it really enjoyable giving something back to our community to our village, that’s the most important thing for me,” he said.
