RECONNECTING with communities is the priority for Redditch Mayor Councillor Gareth Prosser, who, in an unprecedented move, is to continue in the role for a second consecutive year.
It follows Monday night’s full council meeting which also saw Church Hill’s Coun Ann Isherwood made deputy mayor.
Coun Prosser, a former police officer, said: “It’s a great privilege to get a second consecutive year as mayor as its never been done before.
“Let’s see what the next 12 months brings us but I intend to get out an about in our communities after all our efforts were stymied by the pandemic.”
He said he would continue supporting Redditch Association for the Blind and the Disability Support Group as his chosen charities for the year ahead, and paid tribute to his wife Lynn for all her support.
