Joint festival set to be a blaze of colour at Cookill Baptist Church

A SPECIAL celebration will be held at Cookhill Baptist Church this weekend – and everyone’s invited.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the delayed annual flower festival together with the season’s harvest festival.

Spokeswoman Jackie Morgan said the flower festival, being held later in the year, will give an opportunity for people to enjoy the many subtle autumn blooms that will be on show.

“Normally it’s held in the summer but obviously that couldn’t happen this year but it will be a chance to see some lovely autumn colours,” she said.

The event will coincide with the harvest festival and visitors will be able to enjoy light tea, coffee and a biscuit or two at the event.

There will also be a chance to meet the church’s new pastor, Charles Stubbings, and his wife Jenny, who have already been out and about in the community.

It’s all happening this Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm and everyone is welcome to attend.

Cookhill Baptist Church is in Chapel Lane, Cookhill, postcode B49 5LJ.
