'Greater need than ever' as Labour serve up over 200 meals

Redditch Editorial 31st Dec, 2021   0

REDDITCH Labour Party and a small army of volunteers cooked and delivered more than 200 tasty dinners at their annual Christmas Eve meal event.

Organiser Joe Baker who set the event up 10 years ago and was once again at the heart of operation, said: “This year was particularly busy, with far more deliveries being made.

“This year we have cooked far more meals than last year and it is now obvious that the Tory government has really affected people’s pockets.

“However as always the Labour Party is here to help and support.

“I must thank all those who made this possible, including Bev Allington, the Community Champion at Morrisons, Batchley Fish Bar, Batchley Support Group, the Redditch Goddess Temple Coven for their fundraising, Alex from St Andrews Church in Church Hill and the many volunteers who came out on the day to help prepare and to all who donated funds and food.

“I am so proud of the work we as Redditch communities do for each other.”
