REDDITCH MP Rachel Maclean got a first hand look at efforts in Redditch to help the people of Ukraine last Friday.
First stop of a packed schedule saw her visit the Redditch Craft Bakery of Piotr Galas and his wife Agnieszka in Evesham Walk.
Thanks to their ‘doughnuts for Ukraine’ sale the couple had managed to raise £4,700 for the cause, including a £1,000 donation for one doughnut from one Redditch resident.
Piotr has since kept a jar on the counter for people to make further donations and Mrs Maclean added a further £100 to the total.
She said: “What Piotr and Agnieszka have done is amazing, and so too all the people in Redditch who have supported them.
“In fact the response from Redditch has been tremendous all round.”
Agnieszka said: “It was very nice of Mrs Maclean to come and visit our shop, but we are not here just for MPs but for all the people of Redditch and we’d like to thank everyone for their support.”
