Redditch Liberal Democrats name the team to fight local elections

WIND-blown but ready for action – Redditch and Inkberrow Liberal Democrats say they are looking to continue locally the national surge in their fortunes by taking seats from Conservatives at the local elections on May 5.

Party members say their new team offers a blend of youth and experience with policies to attract inward investment to Redditch whilst retaining the green space promise made to residents when it became a New Town.

The candidates are Andrew Fieldsend-Roxborough, an electrical engineer with eyes on a political career.

Ian Pickles and David Gee are retired business people with strong suits in finance and economics.

David’s wife Anne is a retired social worker who built a career as a psychologist dedicated to improving mental health provision in Redditch.

Simon Preston is an education professional and neuro-diversity advocate who advises individuals and organisations on an inclusive approach to decision-making.

The team is anchored by Church Hill’s own Mark Tomes, a well-known and long-term resident, as always resolute and passionate to make Church Hill as good as it can be!

If elected with sufficient influence, Redditch Lib Dems have a ten -point plan which they say will get council spending under control, balance the bulging budget, and save green space from incessant house building solely to produced council tax revenue.

In addition they say they will appoint a Redditch development ‘Tsar’ tasked to revitalise the town and above all, rebrand Redditch as the place in the Midlands to live, work and enjoy the work-life balance bequeathed to all residents when it became a New Town.
