TROPHY cabinets around Redditch will be groaning after the astounding success of students from the Gemini Dance Studio in Easemore Road.
Instructor Sam Williams took 15 competitors to the Skegness Dance Championships last month and they quick stepped away with 42 trophies and 10 first places.
“We were all on cloud nine!” said Sam who has been an instructor at the school for nearly 30 years.
And with ages ranging from five to 15, the potential for the future is tremendous.
“We stayed at Butlins, the dancers, parents and teachers and the atmosphere was great,” said Sam.
“To get 42 finalists from little old Redditch was brilliant but to win 10 events too, that was fantastic.
The Gemini Dance Studio has been a fixture in Redditch for more than 50 years – long before Strictly Come Dancing took off.
Situated behind Community House, classes are held in what were once Army barracks, and Sam and her team teach most styles of dance, from freestyle, slow/lyrical, street, commercial and ballroom and Latin..
“Students range from two to three years old right up to adults and we do dance exercise classes too,” said Sam.
