St Stephen's appeal for Poppies ahead of November's remembrance service

AN APPEAL has been launched for residents to knit or crochet poppies for a display on the War Memorial next to St Stephen’s Church for this November’s Remembrance Service.

Coun Juliet Brunner who has been an avid crocheter for many years is spearheading the call for help.

Having seen examples of Poppy displays in other Towns Coun Brunner approached the Ecumenical Craft Group for help.

The Group Coordinator Jane Waldron said: “We are all thrilled to be taking part in the Poppy Project and encourage everyone to get involved.”




The club meets every other Wednesday 1.30pm – 3.30pm in the Redditch Ecumenical Centre.

Coun Juliet Brunner added:”Community projects like this are something Redditch does really well and Im asking for your support ,we need thousands of Poppies!


Patterns are available via the Ecumenical Centre, please call Mrs Nicki Farnes on 0152765952.

Copies can be sent via email or hard copy.

Completed poppies can also be left at the Ecumenical centre.
