RESIDENTS in Redditch and the wider Worcestershire area were wowed by a dramatic purple sky, punctuated with a rainbow.

After the UK’s hottest day on Friday, Saturday was arguably the dreariest when heavy rain fell throughout the day and the colours in the sky did not look like they would be anything other than grey.

But, bizarrely, in the evening, the sun came out and showcased this dramatic purply-orange sunset with the rainbow.
