Festival aims to make Studley sustainable

Redditch Editorial 30th Jun, 2022   0

A SUSTAINABILITY festival in Studley is helping local residents to think, live and work in a more environmentally friendly way.

The Environmentally Studley eco festival, running from June 18th – July 2nd is aimed at shining a spotlight on what is already being done to combat climate change, plastic waste and a range of other environmental challenges.

It hopes to encourage people to take further steps and to simply enjoy the natural world on their doorstep.

The events at the festival include, a textile exhibition, special church services, a wildflower afternoon tea, and a community litter pick.

A ‘BioBlitz’ being hosted at Heart of England Forest, invited the public to take a guided walk through the flora and fauna of the woodland, and help take part in an ambitious nature count.

Individuals are encouraged to make incremental changes while businesses and organisations are asked to consider some bold steps they might take.

Pledges are being recorded via the festival website, and on a ‘pledge tree’ which has toured the community in the run-up to and during the festival.
