REDDITCH United have announced that the club will hold a memorial game in memory of former player Tom Rankin who tragically died earlier this year.

The Tom Rankin Memorial Game will see a Tom Rankin XI take on a Loughborough XI at the Trico Stadium on Sunday, July 24 with kick-off at 2pm.

And the Rankin XI will consist of Tom’s former teammates, having also turned out for Bromsgrove Sporting and Leamington as well as the Reds who he previously captained.

Loughborough have been selected as the opposition with Rankin having graduated from the university.

All proceeds from the match will be donated to The Kaleidoscope Plus Group – a non-profit organisation who work across the UK to promote and support positive health and wellbeing – with those attending urged to ‘pay what you can’.

Rankin died suddenly, aged 26, in March having played for the club in a league match the day before.

The match will take place on Sunday, July 24 with kick-off at 2pm at the Trico Stadium.
