Redditch homelessness charity celebrates 25 years

Ryan Smith 2nd Dec, 2022   0

REDDITCH Nightstop is celebrating 25 years of amazing work preventing homelessness in the town through hosted accommodation, support and learning.

The charity helps those aged between 16 and 35 in their times of need, while also offering longer-term support.

Many of their clients have no family or friends and do not have access to specialist professional support, with some having undiagnosed learning needs or experiencing exploitation.

Between 2021 and 2022, Redditch Nightstop helped 107 youngsters to access safe accommodation and care services, food, essential furniture, travel, clothing and bedding.

They also help them to find free and instant mental health and wellbeing support through practitioners.

Charities and communities run Nightstop services in over 30 areas across Britain, giving safe, warm nights accommodation to 482 young people last year.

Charity manager Susan Sadler said: “We see the impact of our work every day and it’s humbling to see people finding strength when they are in such complex situations.

“It’s great to see people taking the opportunity we provide to trust us, feeling dignified and not judged and developing openness to new experiences.

“We could not do it alone, and are working with our clients, volunteers, funders, and the local community, to provide greater opportunities for our clients to thrive and for the benefit of all.”
