Chance to ask questions over controversial plans to move Redditch library

Redditch Editorial 14th Jan, 2023   0

RESIDENTS will be able to ask questions and give their thoughts on the controversial plans to relocate Redditch Library over the next few weeks with two face-to-face meetings as part of Worcestershire County Council’s consultation.

The one-hour meetings will take place at the library from 5pm on Tuesday, January 24 and from 10am on Thursday, February 9.

People will be able to put their questions to Worcestershire County Council’s cabinet member for communities, Coun Marcus Hart, and the assistant director for communities, Hannah Perrott.

Coun Hart will conduct an introductory session outlining points from recent cabinet reports before taking questions. The feedback given can then be included in the independent consultation report findings.

The consultation will be running until February 24 and will focus on the library’s proposed Town Hall relocation, the usage of the library and the most important services to customers and residents.

Coun Hart said: “It is important for the county council to hear from residents and for us to gauge what they think about the current library offer during the consultation period.

“These sessions allow us to speak to residents directly and we can share this feedback with the borough council as it moves its town deal proposals forward.

“We want to ensure the consultation is available in a number of formats, accessible to all and that everyone will get the opportunity to have their say.”
