STUDENTS from Redditch’s Heart of Worcestershire College Special Educational Needs (SEN) department have opened two enterprise projects for work experience.
The students have opened the ‘creation station studio’ and ‘college cake creations’ to help them learn skills they can take into the workplace.
They created several products including keyrings, mugs, T-shirts and tote bags, and last Thursday, the college held a grand opening of the studio with local employers and Redditch mayor Coun Ann Isherwood joining staff and students to celebrate the occasion.
Meanwhile, ‘College Cake Creations’, which made the refreshments for the open event, has been busy taking orders for birthday and Christmas cakes and held a sale at the college last month.
Work experience supervisor Annette Gardner said she was very proud of the hard work that students have done to hold the event.
