Glastonbeoley music festival to support community groups with first round of funding

REDDITCH Self Defence, My STEPS and Inspire Community Training and Development are the first three community organisations to receive grants from GlastonBeloey Music Festival in 2023.

Peter Martin at Redditch Self Defence and Youth Engagement said: “We’d like to thank GlastonBeoley for their backing – this grant has allowed us to undertake a project that will have a vital impact on youngsters in the local area.”

Sarah Duffin at My STEPS added: “Our thanks goes out to the GlastonBeoley committee for choosing to support My STEPS. This grant has taken the financial pressure off us for a few months and we are very grateful.”

Following the successful festival in the summer of 2022 when their nominated charities were Libby Mae’s Little Angels and Touchstones for bereaved youngsters, the Community Interest Company made a grant pot available to support grass-root groups, supporting organisations in and around Redditch.

Kevin Joynes of GlastonBeoley added: “GlastonBeoley wanted to be able to donate to smaller groups and charities who do outstanding work to make a difference in Redditch.

“The organisations that we donated to work tirelessly to help others, and we are really pleased to be able to support them.”

GlastonBeoley 2023 will take place on Friday 30th June and Saturday 1st July – with the venue to be announced shortly.
