Redditch MP launches mobile signal survey

PEOPLE across Redditch are being urged by town MP Rachel Maclean to fill out a survey on how good the mobile phone signal is in their area.

Mrs Maclean said, although the borough had a 93 per cent 4G coverage across all mobile operators, there were still parts of the constituency where the signal was poor.

While broadband connectivity has improved, Mrs Maclean said she knew from her regular work across the rural areas of the constituency that mobile phone signal remained stubbornly unreliable.

She added this had impacted on daily life, business and commercial operations and of course emergency calls.

To better understand the problem across the constituency, Mrs Maclean has launched the survey to gather evidence which she can then take to mobile network operators to make the case for improvements to be made.

She said: “I know how frustrating poor mobile coverage can be, and no-one should be left behind when it comes to mobile connectivity.

“In 2023, all parts of my constituency should have access to good quality mobile coverage.

“It’s clear mobile network operators need to do more to achieve this, and my survey will collect the evidence we need to demonstrate to them that improvements need to be made.”
