SPEED advisory signs have been fixed outside a primary school in Hanbury.
The signs were installed last year to address the speeding problems in the village.
After raising the issue with Redditch MP Rachel Maclean, the signs were repaired.
Mrs Maclean said: “I’d like to thank Coun Rouse, Coun Miller and County Council officers for their work in getting the signs fixed.
“We need to improve road safety outside Hanbury C. of E. First School and I hope the speed advisory signs will help to achieve this.”
Coun Mike Rouse, cabinet member with responsibility for highways at Worcestershire County Council, said: “I am grateful to Rachel Maclean MP and County Councillor Tony Miller for highlighting the community’s concerns.
“As part of Worcestershire County Council’s commitment to improving safety outside schools we were able to implement a 20mph advisory limit. I am pleased to hear the signage and equipment is now all in place and operational.”
Coun Tony Miller, County Councillor for Hanbury, added: “Anyone using the road to Hanbury C. of E. First School cannot mistake the new signage, speed limit and flashing warning signs which have been installed. It is thanks to officers at Worcestershire County Council that we now have this new signage, but we cannot stop there to make this area safe for parents and school children.
“I would remind parents dropping off and picking up children from this location to park in a careful and courteous manner with regard to other road users. As drivers we must modify our behaviour to suit the conditions of these narrow roads.”
