A REDDITCH family have been featured on Channel 5’s Rich Kids Go Skint to share how their family live on a budget.
Claire Chapman, her partner Simon and her three children Toby, Isaac and Jacob live in Greenlands.
They were visited by Jab, who lives in a £2million London house.
Claire said the production company contacted them after seeing the work Isaac has done in the community with his foodbank.
“I think originally they wanted to speak to use to see if we knew any foodbank users they could feature on the show.
“But as I was talking to the researchers about our situation they asked if we would like to take part.”
Claire was apprehensive to begin with, as they are a private family and she was worried about the effect it would have on Isaac.
But she decided the experience would be worth it.
They filmed during December last year, and Claire was impressed at the way Jab got involved with the family.
She added: “All we can say is that Jab was the most amazing young man we have ever met.
“His ability to learn from his experience was phenomenal and we are so very grateful that he is not only part of our family and Team Isaac, he is a true friend of Isaac’s.
“We’re still very much in contact, and we were so amazed at the compassion Jab showed to people in need.”
During filming Jab went the family’s local Tesco to hand out leaflets to promote Friends of Isaacs foodbank.
Claire said she was impressed with the way Jab got stuck in with the family, and how good he was with Isaac.
“My main worry was how Isaac would handle it all, but Jab couldn’t have been nicer.
“The whole filming experience was amazing, and it’s made us so thankful for everything we do have and our wonderful family.”
