REDDITCH will be rocking over the Whitsun weekend as blues and rock artists from around the country come together to celebrate the 75th birthday of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham.
Headlining the show will be Led Zeppelin tribute band, Led Into Zeppelin.
Hailing from up north, these accomplished musicians will play a host of Led Zep classics and bring the curtain down on what will be a memorable day for music fans under The Canopies in Redditch town centre.
Bonham was born on May 31, 1948, at 84 Birchfield Road in Headless Cross, the home of local midwife nurse Violet Jones which was commemorated in 2017 with a blue plaque.
The event will be in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust, the charity nominated by the Bonham family when his memorial was installed in the town centre in 2018.
Event director Ros Sidaway said the party’s announcement had already received a fantastic response in Britain and the USA.
“We’re delighted to announce the line-up for this year’s very special celebration which features several musicians who actually knew John and were keen to perform.
“And we’re not stopping there, as well as these great bands, we will have some very special guests appearing on stage throughout the Saturday afternoon and evening – all with links to John Bonham or Led Zeppelin.”
Earlybird tickets sold out within a few weeks with fans from the US, Europe and around the UK making sure they secured their places.
General admission tickets are £28 plus booking fee.
