RESIDENTS at retirement village in Alcester took part in a photography competition set up by later living operator, Inspired Villages.
The competition was set up to celebrate World Wildlife Day on March 3 and capture the wildlife and idyllic grounds that surround the village.
Ray Drury, aged 77, from Great Alne Park came third overall in the national inter-village competition but took first place for Great Alne Park with his impressive photograph of seven goldfinches just outside his apartment window.
James Cobb, director at Inspired Villages, said: “It’s fantastic to see all the villages taking part in this competition.
“We have loved seeing all the photographs and picking the winner was a difficult decision.
“The photographs showcase the incredible surrounding at Inspired Villages across the UK and we hope that this year’s entries inspire more residents to try something new and get out and about appreciating the UK’s stunning nature and wildlife.”
