LOOKING to follow in the footsteps of the Year 7 team, the St Bede’s Year 6 Netball squad were fired up and raring to go at the District Netball Tournament.
Having an unsettled start to the first half of first match, Bede’s found their stride and took the win 2-0 verses Woodfield.
After a squad rotation in their second match and some fresh legs on court, St Bede’s took the lead and managed to fend off a competitive Churchill team 2 -1.
St Bede’s met their biggest rivals in the 1st place finals.
The game was fast paced and end to end netball.
St Bede’s defence, in particular, worked hard to keep the ball up at the attacking end.
Persistence paid off and St Bede’s snuck in a sneaky goal in the final minutes of the game to take the title.
PE teacher, Tracy O’Malley said: “Congratulations to all the squad, your commitment to training and enthusiasm for netball has paid off!.”
