A REDDITCH comedian will give the town a late Christmas present with the launch of his new free comedy shows in January.
AJ, 39, a lifelong resident of Redditch, has fronted the costs for multiple free comedy nights hosted by himself for the people of Redditch throughout early 2024.
The show titled AJ Unleashed – Young @ Heart will kick off with a performance at Oakenshaw Community Centre, Redditch on January 5 at 7pm. There are approximately 100 tickets available.
Aj told the Standard: “I noticed there wasn’t a lot of local comedy in Redditch and I’m hoping to bring a bit of feel factor to the town.
“Everyone love’s a freebie and as the show is a work in progress, it’s a chance for everyone to come and see.
“As a comedian, I am new to the solo side of stand up but have some material I would like to try with the audience.
“My niche is story telling and observational comedy.”
There will further shows at Winyates Community Centre (Friday January 26 – 7pm), Windmill Community Centre (Friday March 1 – 7pm) and Batchley Community Centre (Friday March 30 – 7pm) .
Aj hopes to host a total of 10 shows, as well as a special Valentines show, with dates and venues due to be announced later.
