Embrace Worcestershire's natural beauty during National Picnic Week

Redditch Editorial 19th Jun, 2024   0

RESIDENTS across the county are encouraged to make the most Worcesteshire’s prettiest outdoor locations during National Picnic Week.

From June 17 to 26, individuals and families are being pushed by Worcestershire County Council to embrace the outdoors, gather with loved ones and indulge in delicious meals amidst scenic local landscapes.

The first ideal picnic spots highlighted is Worcester Woods Country Park consisting of two nature reserves, a huge open field, busy Countryside Centre, a children’s adventure play area. It’s easily accessed from Worcester and the M5 motorway.

Next up is Pershore Bridges, a riverside site. Based around the beautiful medieval bridge, the River Avon is teeming with wildlife, boats drifting past, anglers lining the banks, walkers striding out, and picnickers enjoying the outlook.

Among other notable recommendations is Waseley Hills Country Park near Rubery and St. Wullstan’s Local Nature Reserve on the edge of Malvern Wells.
