Redditch Editorial 16th Jun, 2024   0

RESIDENTS will have the chance to have the questions put to the Redditch candidates ahead of the general election.

The annual hustings, organised by Churches Together in Redditch (CTIR), will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday, June 20, at St St Stephen’s Church.

Elaine Whitfield from CTIR said: “The hustings will be open to the public and will provide a valuable opportunity for dialogue and engagement.

“Candidates will be introduced but will not be given a specific speech slot.

“Questions will be selected from a set submitted by the public, but candidates will not be told in advance what they will be.

People are urged to submit questions via email to [email protected] or post them to Redditch Hustings, Redditch Baptist Church, Easemore Road, Redditch B98 8ER.

Questions need to be received by midday on Wednesday, June 19.

The candidates contesting the Redditch election are Chris Bloore, Labour, Rachel McLean, Conservative, Andrew Fieldsend-Roxborough, Liberal Democrats, Julie Alison, Reform, Mohammed Amin, Workers Party of Great Britain and the Green Party’s David Thain.
