HANBURY CofE First School has launched a virtual tour for parents after open days were cancelled this year due to Covid-19.
Families have until January 15, 2021 to select a school on Worcestershire County Council’s website.
With its catchment area only making up 20 per cent of pupils, the school is in a fortunate position to be able to welcome children from local villages and the nearby towns of Droitwich, Bromsgrove and Redditch.
Ofsted rated the School as ‘Good’ in 2019, praising the ‘close-knit and cohesive team’.
It went on to say that the school ‘continues to deliver a good standard of education’.
Hanbury was also recognised for its commitment to safeguarding and supporting children with special needs.
Current pupils play a starring role in the virtual tour video which has launched on the school’s website.
With the help of headteacher Andrew Payne, they explain why they love being part of the rural school.
The tour shows the school’s countryside setting and how it plays a major part in the children’s learning experiences.
“I’m so glad the children had their say in the video,” said Mr Payne.
“Seeing our wonderful pupils progress and grow from when they join us to when they move on to Middle School is a real privilege.
“Sadly, we can’t hold open days this year, but we hope the virtual tour can give people a taste of what life is like here.
“We are a small school with an outward looking attitude and a strong set of values.”
