THE Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity has launched an urgent appeal for help to relieve pressure on frontline staff at Worcestershire Royal, the Alexandra Hospital and Kidderminster Hospital.

The appeal comes after it was confirmed a second patient had died from coronavirus – Covid-19.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is under increased pressure during the current pandemic to support its clinical teams as they go above and beyond the call of duty in extremely challenging conditions to save lives across Worcestershire.

The hospital charity has launched an appeal page https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/helpworcsacute for donations to directly support the clinical teams with care packages to ensure they have basic provisions to hand during their demanding shifts.

The public and local businesses are also being invited to work with the Trust us to direct emergency funding to where the need is greatest. If anyone can help email http://[email protected] – the dedicated phone line number is 01562 828869.

Jason Levy from the charity said: “The charity is receiving tremendous offers of support from the Worcestershire community.

“We are working to ensure those offers are acknowledged, appreciated and used effectively.

“We would like to urge the public that they follow government guidelines when considering their support.”
