Libby Mae's Little Angels founders spread some cheer to local hospitals throughout Mother's Day

THE FOUNDERS of Libby Mae’s Little Angels brought some Mother’s Day cheer to local hospitals on Sunday.

Richard and Charlotte Sharatt spent mothers day making others smile after losing their own ‘little angel’ Libby May in 2013.

The couple visited hospitals with gifts for parents of children in neonatal wards on the special day around the region.

The charity founded by the parents has gone on to raise over a quarter of a million pounds for local hospitals via events, fundraising and their Libby May day.

Charlotte said: “It’s always very emotional going onto a neonatal unit especially at such a special time as I know exactly how hard it is for those mummies.

“I never got to have a Mother’s Day with Libby and every year I wish she was there with me.

“The nurses we delivered the gifts to were overwhelmed with our generosity and the fact we’re always thinking of others.”

Parents took to social media to thanks the couple, with one mother posting a picture of the gift bag alongside her little girl Harper at the Worcestershire Royal, thanking the charity for the gesture, saying how much it had cheered everyone up.

The charity continues to fund-raise with an annual golf day and black tie ball.

‘The Circus Ball’ held at the Burlington Hotel in October, which will see dancing on Ice winner Jake Quickenden perform for guests.
