Police patrols stepped up in Redditch after firearm is found

POLICE patrols were stepped up in Redditch this evening after police found a firearm in a car stopped by officers.

The vehicle was pulled over in Winslow Close.

Two men, aged 19 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs and possession of a firearm.

One man, aged 39, has been arrested on suspicion of driving whilst uninsured and disqualified and of being in possession of a firearm.

Det Ch Insp Ben Arrowsmith said: “This is an isolated incident and we believe there is no wider risk to members of the public.

“You will see extra officers around this part of Redditch this evening.




They will be in the area to carry out our investigation and to offer any reassurance to the community.”
